We have had issues with WordPerfect being slow when opening files in the past. It was usually because a printer was offline. However, this time around the same problem was happening. The user could hit the Open button on the toolbar and could navigate to one folder, but when they tried to navigate into a sub-folder WP would lock up. It would come back if you waited about 30 seconds. After doing a number of things (removing all the printers, logging in a different user, etc.) we noticed that there was a network drive being mapped to a server that was no longer in use. Once we removed that network mapping everything started working fine.
